There are many opportunities at Monarch School for volunteers to make a difference. If you are ready to help some of San Diego's neediest kids, they're waiting to meet you.

How You Can Help
We need volunteers for the following:
Tutors
Administrative Support
Committee Work
Special Event Work
After School Support
   Arts & Crafts
   Physical Education
   Fieldtrip Supervision
   Childcare During Parenting Classes

What You Should Know
Anyone spending time with our kids on a regular basis is thoroughly screened – that includes finger-printing, a TB test and background checks – to insure the kids’ safety.

Also, we respectfully ask that you carefully consider your appropriate level of commitment. Many of our kids have been abandoned; we are striving to provide them with caring, consistent support. Once you let us know your capabilities, we will do our best to find a mutually beneficial arrangement that suits your level of commitment.

How to Get Involved
Monarch Orientation is your first step.  This is a presentation about the school, our students, our programs and current volunteer opportunities.  Orientations are held in the library at Monarch on the third Tuesday from 12:00 to 1:00pm. The next scheduled Orientations are:

  • June 15
  • July 20

We realize that this is during many of your lunch breaks, please feel free to bring your lunch with you.
